JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reconcile various reports and journal entries.
- Communicate with brokers and underwriters
- Work with the Cash Clerk to get all cash reports, checks and outgoing wires, in addition prepare, gather & distribute the cash where it is allocated.
- Research reconciliation of misallocated funds or missing funds and past due premium collections.
- Correct the Interfaced Journal Entries.
- Create statements of accounts.
- Prepare any outgoing payments.
- Work with management to find ways to streamline Accounts Receivable process.
- Assist management with preparation of reports and gathering data for meetings.
- Proper allocation of received premiums.
- Assist with various other department responsibilities.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and to work in a fast-paced environment
- Professionalism to work with a variety of personalities at various organizational levels
- Ability to develop internal and external relationships
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) is required.
- Sound numeric skills-detailed and accurate
- Strong communication skills both written and oral
- Understanding of general business and accounting practices
- Good organizational skills with the ability to work well under pressure
- Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed by position and supervisor
- Associates degree in Accounting or Finance or some college coursework

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Works with the VP of HR to design and administer benefits for the company.
- Provides direction to support business objectives and strategy.
- Responsible for the effective and efficient functioning of the company’s employee benefits program including eligibility and enrollment processes for all participating employees.
- Ensures that employees receive accurate responses to all benefits questions and issues; resolves more complex eligibility issues and mediate between benefits providers and employees.
- Oversees the administration of various employee benefit programs, such as group health insurance, life insurance, vision and dental, short-term and long-term disability, 401k, FMLA and COBRA.
- Design, evaluate and modify benefit policies to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Oversees the distribution of new hire and open enrollment materials for all company administered plans and create and distribute benefits communications.
- Implements benefit programs; arranges and conducts employee information presentations and coordinates open enrollments.
- Verifies employee enrollment; examines change requests in coverages.
- Verifies the calculation of the monthly premiums statements for all group insurance policies and maintains statistical data relative to premiums.
- Research benefits issues and work with carrier representatives and brokers to identify and implement benefits to increase the quality of life for employees.
Organizational Compensation:
- Support on various executive compensation programs and corporate governance issues, including the administration of the management bonus, long-term incentive plans, annual salary planning process, as well as the assessment of FLSA classification across the company.
- Evaluate job positions, determining classification, exempt or non-exempt status and salary.
- Analyze compensation policies, government regulations, and prevailing wage rates in order to develop and provide recommendations regarding the strategic direction of the company’s base and incentive compensation programs.
- Administers the annual salary planning program and makes recommendations for merit budget increases and salary structure movement.
- Ensures company compliance with federal and state laws and regulations which control or impact compensation and policies, including reporting requirements.
- Conduct on-going market analysis to ensure that the company’s compensation remains competitive.
- Prepare occupational classifications, job descriptions and salary scales to ensure that programs are current, competitive and in compliance with legal requirements.
- Provides support in a wide variety of compensation matters, including identifying resources and surveys, training and alternative rewards.
- Manages communication regarding compensation to ensure the biggest return and to educate employees about both the content and value of the programs being provided.
- Negotiate and work with brokers and plan carriers, mediate labor disputes and grievances and provide advice on the resolution of classification and salary complaints.
- Evaluate and review company philosophy, policy and principles related to the areas of compensation to make recommendations as necessary.
- Conduct and/or participate in wage & salary survey.
- Keeps abreast of corporate governance trends and legislation impacting executive compensation and benefits, and is responsible for any changes to plan documents and design to comply with these changes.
- Drafts necessary communications to various constituents.

Benefits Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years previous experience administering Group Medical, Dental, Life, LTD, STD and 401(k) benefit plans, including open enrollment.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations and administration of group benefit programs.
- Performs complex clerical duties under limited supervision including reporting, records maintenance, and creation and maintenance of forms and communications.
- Experience with creating reports from a payroll system database, ability to and experience with reading and interpreting benefit plan materials and experience paying benefit bills is also required.
- Serve as Company liaison with benefit providers; including paying bills and maintaining plan materials, while assisting employees and HR managers with their benefits questions and enrollment.
- Ensure that new hires and current employees are enrolled for benefit coverage as elected.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree plus three years related benefits experience required.
- Knowledge of pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements, both adopted and pending, affecting employee benefit programs including ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, Section 125, Medicare, OBRA, Social Security and DOL requirements required.
- Excellent communication and organization skills required.
- Strong analytical skills and self-motivation required.
- Experience with self-insured plans and remote locations preferred.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates. Strong ability to plan effectively and prioritize tasks. Ability to manage several complex projects simultaneously while working under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Must have strong computer proficiency and technical aptitude with an advanced ability to utilize MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Experience with Ultipro payroll system and Cognos
- Impromptu report writer preferred.
- Knowledge of benefit contract language and benefit plan design strongly preferred.
This is a direct hire position in North Houston paying up to $41,000 a year.
