Top 5 Staffing Agency Myths

Not all staffing companies operate the same. We're debunking the top myths about working with a staffing agency. Let's separate the staffing facts from fiction.

5 Staffing Agency Myths

Myth #1: Staffing Agencies only staff for Temporary positions

Fact: Not all staffing agencies provide only temporary positions. In fact, the greater majority actually specialize in Temp-to-Hire or Direct Hire placement. According to the American Staffing Association (ASA), 9 out of 10 staffing employees said temporary assignments gave them a better chance at being hired on full-time at the company they may have never gotten into in the first place if it weren't for a temporary assignment.

A temporary assignment may turn into full-time if a candidate proves that they are a hard worker and leaves a good impression with the hiring company.

Myth #2: Staffing agencies will take a “cut” out of their employees' pay.

Fact: There is no cost to job seekers to use a staffing company to assist with their employment search. Staffing agency clients compensate the staffing agency for their service of finding the top candidates who can fulfill the company’s current needs. From the moment a candidate submit an application to clocking in on your first day, candidates do not owe TPI Staffing a dime.

Myth #3: Staffing agencies do not care about their candidates.

Fact: If you do not feel supported, you are working with the wrong staffing company. TPI Staffing is committed to helping you find the job that is both enjoyable and matches your skill set. We care so much that the ASA reported more than 3 MILLION temps and contract employees work for America’s staffing companies during and average week!

Myth #4: Staffing agencies are supposed to do ALL the work for me once I apply.

Fact: Staffing agencies are a great place to start when looking for employment, but don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Candidates still need to provide resumes and other forms of information needed by a staffing company. Although you may land a job with a staffing agency, increase your chances by submitting your resume to more than one open opportunity.

Myth #5: Staffing agencies only provide low paying job opportunities.

Fact: Pay ranges vary more than ever now. Staffing agencies have the ability to partner with large corporations that are seeking qualified candidates in a variety of industries at different skill and pay levels. Ultimately, the pay rate is decided by the client company.
