Top 5 Staffing Agency Myths

5 Staffing Agency Myths Tackled by TPI Staffing

Myth #1: “Staffing Agencies only find or hire for Temporary positions.”

Fact: Not all staffing agencies provide ONLY temporary positions. According to the American Staffing Association, 9 out of 10 staffing employees said staffing work made them more employable.

Myth #2: “Staffing Agencies will take a “cut” out of my pay.”

Fact: Employers/Clients compensate the staffing agency for their service of finding the top candidates who can fulfill the company’s current needs. From the moment you submit your application to clocking in on your first day, you won’t owe TPI Staffing a dime.

Myth #3: “Staffing Agencies do not care about their candidates.”

Fact: If you do not feel supported, you are working with the wrong staffing company. TPI Staffing is committed to helping you find the job that is both enjoyable and matches your skill set. We care so much that the ASA reported more than 3 MILLION temps and contract employees work for America’s staffing companies during and average week!

Myth #4: “Staffing Agencies are supposed to do ALL the work for me once I apply.”

Fact: Staffing agencies are a great place to start when looking for employment, but don’t put all of your eggs in one basket. Candidates still need to provide resumes and other forms of information needed by a staffing company. Although you may land a job with a staffing agency, increase your chances by submitting your resume to more than one open opportunity.

Myth #5: “Staffing Agencies only provide low paying job opportunities.”

Fact: Pay ranges vary more than ever now. Staffing agencies have the ability to partner with HUGE companies that are seeking qualified candidates in a variety of industries at different skill and pay levels.

Employers Guide to Heat-Illness Prevention

Are your employees operating in a non A/C warehouse or working outdoors during the hot summer months?

As employers, it is crucial to roll out a safety prevention initiative to remind employees to be mindful of heat illness and water breaks. View the OSHA Heat Safety Guide for Employers to learn more about what you can do to keep your employees safe.

We also recommend displaying heat illness prevention posters and water break reminders in your facility and break rooms.

Water break posters are also available in Spanish here.

Boost Employee Morale

Tips to Boost Employee Morale—Are you and your employees happy?

Are you and your coworkers in a slump? Are you counting down the minutes until 5:00? We’ll give you some tips on how to boost employee morale and enjoy coming to work again!

1. Weekly Awards. Each week, vote on the hardest worker, top salesperson, or most valuable employee that week. Gather votes by Thursday afternoon and announce the winner on Friday with all employees present. Print out personalized awards and put in a frame for their office or cubicle. This is a great way to recognize hard workers and may even put some pep in the “not so hardworking” employees’ step! Gives people initiative to work better and harder, and who doesn’t enjoy being recognized for their hard work? Fun game to keep your employees on their toes!

2. Employee Appreciation Gifts. Everyone may not like surprises, but this is one surprise everyone will love! Every Monday or Friday throughout the summer, place a piece of candy with positive inspiration tag on their desk. Fun ways to boost employee morale and show your appreciation. They’ll be wondering what’s up your sleeve next week!

3. Friday Happy Hour. Who doesn’t love happy hour? This non-alcoholic spin on the usual happy hour will be sure to boost employee morale and satisfy your sweet tooth. In place of alcohol, use root beer and create root beer floats!

4. Daily or Weekly Recap. Send out a mass email to all internal employees highlighting the best parts of the day, giving shout-outs to those that deserve it, or tell a short story about a positive event that took place that day or throughout the week.

5. Pot Luck Lunch. Post a sign-up sheet on the fridge in your breakroom and let people choose which course they would like to bring. It’s a fun way to showcase your cooking or baking skills and impress your coworkers! Office Treats to Boost Employee Morale
